If you don’t like the show you’re watching, you change the channel to a new frequency. Those signals become pictures on the screen. Think of yourself as a transmission tower, like the ones used to broadcast signals to your television. Your life is a reflection of your thoughts, and you can use them to create your future self. ![]() When you look at your current life, you can trace everything back to one thought or a series of thoughts. The power of your mind is akin to the power of a magnet. The basis of The Secret is the Law of Attraction- use your thoughts to attract the things you want. After using these principles to draw abundance to her life and save her business, she decided to bring this process to the world. Then, she remembered a book her daughter had given her, a book that contained the elements of what would become The Secret. She had no prospects for income to save it. I feel a painful ending coming - at least to my mind. And to glimpse the "final few chapters" note in the bio suggests little time to repair the damage done. It broke my heart to watch this unfolding of the plot. It's so shallow and disappointing - to say nothing of an opposite route than how she generally approaches her protagonists. Or not in such a superficial way, at any rate. I wanted to see a butterfly narrative that didn't rely on appearance. Deguchi's shown so much growth and strength up to this point. The heightened drama surrounding the wedding was also anticipated.īut why, oh why did Deguchi's looks need to change? Yes, I worried things would head in that direction (a common trope), but I believed Tanemura-san would carry the plot in a different direction. Of course, I expected the love triangle (that's a standard for her writing). Unfortunately, it's because she chose to follow the route I didn't want to see the story take. I could lose myself in the imagery for days. How long's it been since Volume 6? (Suffice it to say I needed a reread to refresh my brain on what was going on) These insanely long breaks between publications do a real number on you!Īs always, I can't get enough of Tanemura-san's gorgeous artwork. ![]() ![]() I felt even worse for them as they struggle to trust everyone they meet. ![]() I felt for them at having lost their parents and then their grandmother and having only Aunt Beatrice to look after them. They're not particularly long - but then this kind of book never is - or at least never feels like it is. The rest of the Cahill family kind of suck, but what's an adventure story without a villain? Or ten? The plot is riveting - the mix of fiction and history is fascinating and I flew through this and the next one in the series. She's laid back and loyal and can speak a seemingly million different languages. As a reader, I relate to Amy but I love Dan's way of looking at things. Unlike Alex Rider it's not overly sad and unlike Cherub - I like the main characters. ![]() This was fast paced and action packed and it was wickedly good. It's Rick Riordan, if that doesn't tell me it's good what will? ![]() |
